The Idea was to go for a little bike ride to prepare
ourselves for the ride in Ireland we were planning in the summertime. The route,
Prawle Point (the most southerly point in Devon) to
Foreland Point (the most northerly) covering a distance of 120 miles over 3 days of cycling. The only problem was that
Speare had not used his bike since he passed his driving test. So his bike was not in the best condition, nor was he. We also learned that trying to cycle through
Exmoor with a hang over from hell, in not the nicest of weather does tend to
dampen your spirits. Strangely
Speare's commitment to the Ireland ride started to wavier for some reason.
